1783 settlers came to Cherry Valley. Amongst them were Dr. Joseph White and his
family. Joseph White was an eminent physician and surgeon. He was a man of
wonderfully varied attainments. To his credit, he was equally distinguished in
law and finance, and held the position of “president” for the Otsego Medical
Society of New York State. Over the years, Dr. White built several homes on his
land, later known as the “Joseph White Estate”. The Little Red House was one of
them.
The Little Red House has been completely gutted and restored while maintaining
the integrity of its bygone era. Original oak flooring, Glass Pane Windows and
High Ceilings grace the entire house.
The Elegant Country Kitchen is garnished with; Blue Stone Counters, Center
Island, Wanes Coating, High Hat Lighting, Stainless Steel Dishwasher, Huge
Double Sided Refrigerator and Elegant Gas Stove. The Central Formal Dining Room
is positioned in front of a Bay Window overlooking the Estate and is beautifully
decorated with an Antique Farm Table. One Full Bath with Stall Shower and Formal
Sitting Room complete the downstairs.
Upstairs are 3 Bedrooms all exquisitely decorated with an 18 Century flair, One
Full Bath and Huge Stackable Washer and Dryer.
The Master Bedroom offers a King Size overstuffed bed, Marble Top Wash Stand and
Antique Dresser. The Second Room offers 2 Single Beds and the Third Room offers
a Full Size Bed, allowing this home to sleep 6 people comfortably.
Outdoors, the Joseph White Family welcomes guests to shoot some basketball or
take a stroll around the property.
